Our Villas cater to a range of people of different age, gender and needs. Each Villa is managed by a Team Leader and with Residential Support Workers they provide quality care and support to each individual resident. Many residents attend the Cooinda Day Program through the day or access community programs or activities. Villa staff work closely with families, friends and carers as well to maintaining communication, connection and relationships with the community. Villa staff also assist residents to meet their health and wellbeing needs with support to access health services or appointments, administer and monitor medication and liaise with families and professionals. Residents participate fully in the day to day household operations. They meet regularly to plan everything from menus and shopping to household tasks and activities.
The Cooinda Respite program is an invaluable resource to families and carers that provides a safe, secure and homely environment for participants. Staying at Respite can be for one day or many; speak to the Team Leader about availability, cost and funding. Our staff foster a relaxing but stimulating environment for guests to participate in the daily tasks of the home and support individuals in their hygiene or health needs as well as providing activity and community access in the region. Respite promotes skill development and supports guests to learn and achieve during their stay. Cooinda participants at Respite can continue to attend programs through the day or evening. Cooinda Respite is not only for Cooinda participants; we welcome eligible people from across our region or across the state. Respite has sleep over staff and full staffing through the day whilst guests are home.
The Cooinda Day Programs strive to provide a diverse range of opportunities for participants to learn and grow. Through regular planning meetings with participants, families and carers, we provide programs that help them achieve their goals and have fulfilling and satisfying experiences. We believe that everyone can learn, grow and enjoy in a positive environment committed to people’s rights, choices and safety.
