From little things big things grow!
“The Little Acorn” is a new enterprise by Cooinda to establish a café in Terang.
This exciting new project will see the old Maternal Child and Health building at 137 High Street refurbished into an inviting place to grab a coffee as you pass through town or to sit down and enjoy a healthy bite with friends.
Over the coming months we will be preparing the fit out of the café, working with staff and participants to train and develop their skills for hospitality and food preparation and doing furnishing and décor to make it an inviting and relaxing space to spend some time.
Longstanding Cooinda staff member Jenny O’Keeffe will manage the café on a daily basis and support participants to work alongside her to serve our customers.
Stay tuned for news of our opening later in the year.
The Terang community have again been generous in supporting Cooinda with a $5000 donation from the Terang Op-Shop.
The opening of “The Little Acorn” is a new and exciting venture for everyone at Cooinda which we hope will present great training opportunities for participants as well as social
inclusion and community interaction. We eagerly await opening day!
